Please read a letter by Board Chair, Aisha Dualy regarding the cancellation of Deaf Iftar.
Dear Community,
We are writing to share an important announcement regarding our planned Deaf Iftar event scheduled for March 7th, 2026. After careful consideration and formal vote by the MDMC Board of Directors, we have made the decision to cancel this year’s Deaf Iftar. The decision was not made lightly. Given the current climate and heightened fear and safety concerns affecting many members of the communities we serve particularly Deaf, DeafPlus, DeafBlind and Hard of Hearing and immigrant community members, the Board determined that proceeding with a large in person gathering at this time would not be in the best interest in community well-being.
