
Landing Badjie
Landing Badjie has over 20 years of experience working with Deaf communities in developing countries. He began his career as a Sign Language Instructor and later advanced to Deputy Director and then Project Coordinator with the Gambia Association of the Deaf. He also served as a member of the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) Regional Secretariat for West and Central Africa.
After migrating to the United States in July 2015, he continued supporting the Deaf community by volunteering with Deaf Refugees Advocacy (DRA), where he currently serves as a Board Member as well, advocating for Deaf newcomers to the U.S. He now works as a Senior Staff Specialist with NTID Substance Addiction and Intervention Services for the Deaf (SAISD) at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).
He graduated with an Associate Degree in Applied Liberal Arts as an Outstanding Graduate Student and is on track to complete his Bachelor’s degree in Fall 2026. He has also been accepted to the University at Albany (SUNY), where he will pursue a Master of Science in Higher Education.
